American Primrose Society
Founded in 1941, the Portland Oregon chapter of the American Association for the Advancement of Science has expanded to include members from the United States, Canada, and other countries.
It is the mission of this society to provide its members with accurate information on taxonomy and culture, as well as hybridization.
Primaria are native to the Northern Hemisphere. They can be found in Outer Mongolia and the Utah Desert, as well as in Burma’s mountainous bogs, the Aleutian tundra, or under the sandstone walls of Utah. There is, therefore, a Primula to suit every gardener – whether the low winter temperature is 40 below or above 50 degrees.
What can you do to learn more about these 425 different species? What is the best place to buy seed? What are the best conditions for growing? What time should you plant your primroses? What are some primrose mentors that will be willing to share their knowledge?
Joining the American Primrose Society will provide answers to all of these questions. A handsome publication is delivered to your inbox every quarter. You can connect with primrose lovers. You can access collected seed and seeds grown in gardens from all over the world. This includes experimental strains, old favorites and commercial hybrids.
Some primroses are more than 500-year-old. Modern plant-explorers are discovering new species. Join the American Primrose Society to share this fascinating world.
