The Club invites rock gardeners from around the world to join. It now has over 100 members, including locals. They maintain professional relationships with Rock Garden Societies and Clubs from the U.S.A. to U.K. Germany France Belgium Canada Netherlands Canada. Many of our members have experience in growing alpine plants, and are skilled seed collectors. Our main activities are:
1. The bulletin “Skalnicky”, i.e. Alpine Plants), published four times a year in approximately 40-page issues with colour photos and drawings.
2. Seed Exchange. Our Index Seminum, or seed list offered more than 1.800 items by local and international donors in 1999/2000.
3. The traditional church show garden in Prague, with a plant sale and three shows .
– The Spring Early in March/April,one-week, with a focus on Saxifragas and bulbs
– The Spring Main Show in May, lasting for three weeks and exhibiting more than 1,000 plants.
– The Fall show , in August/September for conifers and garden plants.
4. Our holidays include longer expeditions to Europe, Asia and the best rock gardens in our country.
5. Study weekend in October, Annual meeting in February.
Both International Money Orders and Draft Notes from banks are acceptable. If you are sending Eurocheques to another country, please write the same amount in your local currency. Otherwise, the charges will be higher than what was sent. You can send cash, at your own risk. Make sure your address and name are readable. There are always unidentified checks with an incorrect address. Please let us know if you don’t receive our bulletins. Also, please tell us the time and method of payment. Skalnicky Vol. Skalnicky Vol. Vol. 2 is only sent to those members who are in good standing.
